Coach Laura Taylor graduated from Milsap HS where she was a member of the cross country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and track teams. She competed at UIL State Cross Country while in high school.
She attended Texas Tech University where she studied Communication Studies and Exercise Science. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree and graduated on the Deans List several semesters at TTU. Her favorite class was Biomechanics & Sports Nutrition.
She is certified in USA Track and Field Coach Level 1 as well as EXOS Strength and Performance Certification for Athletic Performance.
She studied abroad in San Luis Potosi where she learned to speak, write, and read Spanish fluently.
Prior to Ozona, Coach Taylor taught at Brownfield, Denver City, and Midland High.
Currently she is Ozona's elementary PE Coach, Head XC coach, and Girls Assistant Track coach.
She is married to Jarryd Taylor and together they have four children: Jace, Jones, Jett, and Baby Taylor.
She loves to run and has competed in 18 half marathons (so far). She also enjoys hiking, traveling and anything outdoors.
