FORSAN, TX FORSAN – The Buffs hosted the Ozona Lions Friday night to open district play with a key matchup at home. Forsan got a slow start to the game really struggling to shoot the ball from deep but were able to keep a narrow lead thanks to their great team defense and dominance on the boards. In the second half the Buffs finally found their range and built a double digit lead that they were able to maintain throughout to get the big 61-42 district win. Richardson led all scorers with 24 points while also getting 8 steals, grabbing 4 rebounds and rising high for 4 impressive blocks. Riffe led the Buffs in rebounding with 10 boards and also chipped in 5 points and 2 blocks. Caden Williams played great off the bench with 7 rebounds and solid defense. Paul Evans was also a major contributor with 8 points and 5 rebounds in the game. The Buffs will host Christoval next Tuesday with the chance to improve their district record to 2-0.
