Lions, Lady Lions, compete at Mason

LIONS, LADY LIONS, COMPETE AT MASON

The OHS Cross-Country Teams competed in Mason on Oct. 2. The Lions finished fourth as a team. “The boys lost to 5A Tivy and 4A Fredericksburg and Wimberley. Even though some of our runners struggled on the day, we had some others step up to help put us ahead of #7 2A Harper by five points. It was nice to see some competition was haven’t seen,” said Coach Jeff Shelton. Humberto Torralba placed sixth with a time of 18 minutes, 44 seconds. Manuel Torralba was seventh at 18:44.50. Also running for the Lions: 30. Jason Lopez, 21:08; 41. Camron Perez, 22:28; 47. Bryce Gray, 23:08; 55. Adam Hopper, 23:51; 56. Melvyn Mejia, 23:54. The JV Lions placed fifth as a team. Running in JV Division: 14. Julian Dominguez, 22:34; 18. Daniel Hernandez, 23:27; 30. Arturo Guerra, 28:05; 33. Hermin Villegas, 29:54. The Lady Lions placed eighth as a team. Kenzee Talamantez was sixth at 13:19. Also running for the Lady Lions: 45. Ysabella Flores, 15:10; 52. Krysten Webb, 15:32; 75. Alondra Hernandez, 17:04; 79. Charli Oglesby, 17:55; 82. Jacque Medina, 19:00. “Kenzee continues to run well. Alondra had another personal record. Injuries have us down to six on the girls’ team, but they are working hard to improve,” Shelton said.
