OMS LIONS CRUSH GOLDEN CRANES
When writing this article, the theme of the pep rally became apparent. What was important, which is FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT REGARDLESS OF THE OBSTACLES.
I am not able to remember all the scoring that occurred in this game, but I hope to share another important aspect that our young Lions experienced that will serve them well.
The Cranes from Crane Middle School flew into town Thursday, and after the dust settled a few feathers were laying on the field.
The Lions jumped out and never looked back outscoring the Cranes 40-0 in the seventh grade game and 56-12 in the eighth grade.
The scoring was impressive, but there was another important life lesson that would be experienced on this evening.
The lesson that the coaches spoke of is giving all you have to something regardless of the obstacles.
Both OMS teams entered the game with few subs, and the eighth grade finished the game with no one standing on the sideline due to an injury.
In both games the Lions played hard and took no plays off because like life, one must keep on fighting the good fight.
In closing, the coaching staff (Daniel Cruz, Luke Wyatt, and Rhonnie Lester) saw an important life lesson unfold that was much more important than scoring points.
To our players, thank you for such a great effort that will not be forgotten.
