The JV Lions traveled to Sweetwater to play in the historic Mustang Bowl. Sweetwater, a 4-A team outnumbered the Lions, but that did not prevent the Lions from playing. A team with 17 on the roster were down to 14 at kickoff due to injuries. Sweetwater was able to use their size and numbers to take advantage of the Lions mistakes. The bright spot to the game came when Chris Ramirez was able to connect with Exeyian Mendoza on a 40 yard reverse pass for a touchdown. Jadon Martinez was able to recover a failed extra point to give the Lions 8 points on the day. The final score was 8-44 and the JV is now 1-3 on the season. Their next game will be their first home game of the season, next Thursday at 6:00 pm against Brady. The coaches are excited about having some key players back from injury.
