The Owls from Big Lake came to town on Thursday Sept 10th and had their wings were clipped 42-0. The 7th grade offense scored quickly and often on big plays. The defense bent but did not break in preserving the shut out. Offensive standouts were Ivan Ortiz, William Webb, Michael Preddy, JP Garza, Tino Castillo, Tim Porras, Rowdy O’Bryant, and Matt Ybarra. These same young Lions along with Ryan Ramos, Chris Partida, Andres Quiroz, Charles Claburn, Colt Scroggins, Holdyn Gonzales, Aaron Juarez, Trey Ruiz, Graciano Garza, Alejandro Guerra, and Jonathan Hernandez pitched a shutout on defense. The young Lions will travel to Menard on Sept 17 to face the Yellow Jackets while playing with the 8th grade Lions for a one game kickoff at 5 pm.
