The 7th Grade Ozona Lions had an impressive win over the Center Point Pirates finishing the game with a score of 52-0. The quarterback for the lions, Valentino (Tino) Castillo, had a great game totaling more than 200 combined rushing and passing yards accumulating 3 rushing Touchdowns and 1 Passing Touchdown. Along with Tino in the backfield was Christian Villarreal who made is first debut with the lions an impressive one. Christian accounted for 3 rushing touchdowns in the game rushing for over 150 yards as well as being on the receiving end of a 2pt conversion pass. The lions began the game on offense scoring their first touchdown on the ground. This was the first of many for the Lions as they went on to score 30 unanswered first half points, the last of these points coming from a connection from Tino to Graciano Garcia on a 15 yard touchdown pass. Although the Lions offense played well, the defense is what really stood out. The lions allowed the Pirates a total of no more than 60 yards the entire game. The lions had multiple tackles for loss most of those coming from the two defensive tackles Matt Ybarra and Alejandro Guerra (who also had a fumble recovery in the first half). The 7th Grade lions now move to 3-1 on the season as they face the Junction Eagles on a road game.
