This was a big victory for the Lions in terms of District seeding; we're now 3-0 in district play. We were able to run the ball at will against Harper Friday night. We had several kids making big plays for us throughout the game and we ended up rushing for 356 yards and all 8 touchdowns came from the ground attack. Our defense had a shutout for three quarters but we gave up two late touchdown passes in the 4th quarter. The defense is playing really well right now and we hope to continue that against Mason this Friday. This next matchup is huge; the winner will most likely be the District Champion. Mason is a perennial powerhouse and will always be a tough opponent. They don't make many mistakes throughout the game; we'll have to be very disciplined and very physical. Back MVP--Joe Perez: 14 carries 145 yards and 2 TD's Receiver MVP--Jose Munoz: 1 catch 28 yards, 7 carries 61 yards and 2 TD's. Special Teams MVP--Kane Venegas: kicked 5 touchbacks, 4/5 XP's.
