The 8th grade came out in dominating fashion and were able to put their foot on the gas pedal never let up. The defense was flying around to the ball and were able to keep the Owls out of the endzone until late in the 4th quarter. The scoring started fast for the Lions as Christian Villarreal was able to break loose on a 45 yard touchdown on the first series of the game. Villarreal scored 3 more times on the night from equally long distance. The defense made a stop on the 9 yard line right before the half and Michael Preddy hit Tino for 91 yard touchdown on the next play to give the Lions a comfortable lead going into the half. Other players like Bill Webb and Andreas helped the Lions offense light up the score board. Defensively, all players that were on the field played lights out and were a solid unit. Jacoby Ramos and DJ Esparaza anchored the offensive and defensive lines in the 38-6 win.
