OMS 7TH LIONS WIN 28-14

The 7th Grade Lions continued on their winning ways last Thursday, October 7th in Johnson City as they plucked the Eagles to a 28-14 victory. The game started somewhat rocky as Lions fumbled the ball on their first offensive possession. The Defense stepped up big time as Rielee Barrera, Nolan Martinez and a plethora of Lions stuffed the Eagles offense. In the ensuing drive, Barrera broke a long touchdown, his first of 3 on the day. The Eagles responded with a touchdown of their own in the following drive. The Barrera led Lions marched down the field for another TD. Another defensive stop was in store for the Lions and with a few minutes left in the half, Barrera hit Wyatt Bean for a 30 yard completion, down to the 1, which Martinez capitalized on a TD run on the next play. The Lions were up 20-6 going into the half. Following halftime, the Eagles broke for a long TD run, putting the game at 20-14. The Lions followed that with a long methodical drive, which was finalized with another Barrera TD. This was the final TD of the game. Defensively, Leland Perez, Barrera and Martinez played outstanding. Offensively, Darius Galindo and Chapo Treto anchored the line that pushed around the Eagle D-Line all day.
